Square tiles

(Eye). This design creates a hexagonal pattern from a square tile.
This is achieved because each tile has four sides of a hexagon (an eye) and two sides of the hexagons or eyes in the following column.
In order to create the pattern, the tiles have to be placed in columns, where each tile is placed half a tile above or below the previous one.

Mathematical pattern:
Type E) 1/2 offset (see other compositions)
Place the second tile beside the first tile displaced half of a tiles´length, breaking the row or column (depending on design). And so on to fill the desired area. In the case of combinations of more than one tile, displace the combination half as is shown in the second figure.
